Our part-time Spanish evening classes run from September to June at our central London Regent Street Campus just a few minutes from Oxford Circus. They are taught by experienced language teaching professionals who are native speakers of the language or equivalent. Adult students of all ages and nationalities from a wide range of backgrounds take part-time Spanish courses with us. You can also join a Spanish evening class in January for the second semester if you already have some knowledge of Spanish.
This Spanish evening language class follows a communicative approach to language teaching. Our lessons focus on language that is required for communicating in authentic situations with an emphasis on speaking and listening. Your progress will be assessed on an ongoing basis through homework, assignments and performance in class. You will receive verbal feedback from your tutor on every lesson and written feedback with your homework.
Personal introductions, the alphabet, numbers 0–100, countries and nationalities, professions, physical description and personality, the family, cities, at the bar – food and drinks, formal and informal situations.
Verbs in the present tense, personal pronouns, definite and indefinite articles, adjectives and nouns – gender and number, verbs (ser, estar, hay, tener and querer), demonstrative pronouns (este, esta, estos, estas).
The house (parts of the house and furniture), directions (public places and ways of giving directions), likes and dislikes, the time and days of the week, the routine, at the weekend.
Present tense (regular, irregular and reflexive verbs), adverbs of frequency, prepositions of place, verbs (gustar, encantar), use of prepositions.
Your job or studies, means of transport, the restaurant, ability and knowledge, the simple past, future plans (optional).
