Presentación

This Tourism and Hospitality (Dissertation Stage Only) course consists of a single module, which is a research project. The course is only open to those who have already gained a Diploma in Strategic Hospitality Management or a Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management, and who have at least one year of work experience.

The three-month course starts in January, April, August and October.

Our supportive tutors will help you choose a suitable topic, which will reflect your personal interests and chosen career path, and then supervise your progression to final completion. The course develops a mix of research skills, advanced theory and independent working. The academic team at Sunderland is well placed to supervise your project. Our active research interests include cultural geographies of tourism, tourism political economies, heritage management and events.

The tourism department at Sunderland has a strong reputation. According to The Guardian University Guide 2013, we are ranked seventh in the country for tourism, transport and travel.

Requisitos

Typical offer for this course
Postgraduate/professional diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management, plus at least one year of work experience.
Academic Qualifications
For postgraduate courses it is necessary to have a degree equivalent to a UK honours degree and in some cases, relevant work experience.
English Language Requirement
British Council IELTS band 6 or above (minimum 5.5 in all elements);
TOEFL score of 79 in the Internet Based Tests (IBT) (the minimum scores required in each skill area are: Reading - 18, Listening - 17, Writing - 17, Speaking - 20);
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) grade C or above;
Cambridge Certification in Advanced English (CAE) grade C or above;
O Level English Language or GCSE English Language, grades A, B or C (UK Exam Board);
Malaysian SPM 1119, grade 6 or above (only grades 1, 2 or 3 are acceptable for Law);
Degree in English.
Some courses require a higher level of English Language.
